Review: Spin It – who doesn’t spin, doesn’t play

Carousels have come to us. And they brought with them a dreaded centrifuge. A carousel, that pushes you in the seat so much, that some animals are afraid to sit down on that chair. It gives them courage only, when they encourage each other with friends. This is the moment, when the spin party starts to become fun.

For all lovers of carousels comes a new tiny card game created by and she named it simply The tiny orange box came under the logo, with illustrations, and contains only a set of cards and one cardboard rotating device. Players must prepare this before the first game by attaching a plastic arrow and rubber feet to it. Then, each opponent gets a set of start cards from the shuffled deck.

In his turn, player will then search for a friend with whom to go on a carousel. Simply spin the hand on the merry-go-round and wait, which of the available five slices will the arrow point to. It is this color, that the player tries to find among his cards, which are divided in half and thus each is made of two colors. If he has such a card, he can attach it to the appropriate sector (starting from that colored slice) to create a chain of friends.

Later, cards are no longer attached to the carousel in the middle, but connect with each other by placing it on the last card in the row. Its color is also the one, that the player will look for in the next turn, if the arrow points to that sector. As the tentacles grow, the game continues to go on, and the probability, that special action cards with icons will also hit the game rises. They allow players to get a second turn or replace one card from hand with opponent.

However, there can be moments, when player does not have any card, that matches the color. In this case, he cannot play anything, but instead must take the card from the draw deck. He may still be lucky, because he can still use and place the desired color, if he finds it like this.

Players take turns placing cards. They all have the same and simple goal of being the first to get rid of all the cards from their hand. Now, the player who places the last card in the center of the table, becomes the winner immediately.

Spin It is a children’s card game. There’s no doubt about it, much sooner, than you see the recommended number for age of five on the box. This is because the overall graphic concept is full of illustrations with distinctive lines. The children will be accompanied by animals all the time.

Game itself is beautifully simple, which exactly corresponds to the target group. It is only up to the precise and handy finger, that the player dials the right color slice, he can use. It is understandable, that the less cards player holds, the harder it is to succeed. Whoever holds only the last card is then very likely to dial the wrong one. This also means, that a game can be endless, if the players have a bit of bad luck.

On the other hand, no turn is unnecessarily long, because the player has a clear predetermined task, whether he can place something or not. But just after unloading some cards, there is a chaos, that causes a chance to swap a card with your opponent. At the same time, this unpredictability is also a positive element, that you can easily enjoy with smaller children.

Rotating the arrow itself and pointing to colored slices is enough to keep the attention of small players. The game is surprisingly demanding in terms of space, because as the cards in the individual chains grow, the whole map keeps growing as well. However, it is clear, that some colors will often have multiple representations. In this situation, the player can choose line to place to, changing the chances of others for upcoming rounds.

Spin It is a simple card placement game. For success, you simply need to be lucky to be dealt the right cards and then draw more. As a result, game is really enjoyed by children and they like to play it with adults. Up to five players can hit the battle at the same time, which is ideal, because the game is really interesting. Spin It! is a fine tiny game, that has nothing to be ashamed of in children’s eyes.–303743

Review: Spin It – who doesn’t spin, doesn’t play
Final word
Spin It! is a game of happiness, as is the usual case with children's fairy tales. This time, it's about the merry-go-round, which the animals are to mount before their first play. All they have to do after that, is have friends, and suddenly the courage will catch up. The game is controlled by a spinning arrow, that chooses a color for them. The player must have such card in hand to use it. This way, they gradually connect the cards and build beyond. Spin It is such a card placement game of War. And it can entertain exactly the same group of players – small children and their parents.
